About One Degree

We're Xan & Nathaniel Sibley. We got married fresh outta college, are in the trenches of real life with three littles together, and are convinced that thriving marriages aren't built on grand gestures. They're built simple, consistent, one-degree shifts.
You've probably heard that a one-degree shift in direction can take a plane hundreds of miles off course over a long enough flight. We believe the same is true for marriage. Small, consistent shifts toward each other compound into something extraordinary over the long run.
We started One Degree Marriage because we noticed a gap. Most marriage resources out there are built for couples in crisis, and that's important work. But what about the couples who are doing fine? The ones who love each other, aren't on the brink of anything, but sense that "fine" isn't the ceiling? That's who we're for. Christian couples who want to move from good to thriving... intentionally, and without pretending they have it all figured out.
Because here's the thing: even good marriages drift. Not from crisis, but from busyness. From logistics eating up the space where connection used to live. From two people who love each other functioning more like roommates running a household than partners on a mission together. The pain point isn't always dramatic; sometimes it's just quiet disconnection. Spiritual. Emotional. Relational. And it sneaks up on the couples who least expect it.
Why We Created the Weekly Marriage Meeting Journal™
We created the Weekly Marriage Meeting Journal™ because we wanted it ourselves.
We'd been doing a weekly meeting for 7+ years, but would always write our questions and answers out on random papers.
So we built a simple structure and made the tool for others, too: a weekly meeting, guided by a journal, that gives couples a rhythm for showing up for each other on purpose. Not therapy. Not a state-of-the-union that feels heavy or clinical. Just a consistent, low-pressure space to reconnect, spiritually, emotionally, and practically, before the small gaps become big ones.
The Weekly Marriage Meeting Journal™ is our one degree. It's the tool we wished existed when we started looking for ways to stay intentional in our own marriag, and now it's helping couples do the same in theirs.
